“Summer in Charlo - Sun, Sea and Beaches”

Charlo is very appealing during the summer. The beaches are alive with activities, and the bay greets swimmers, windsurfers, sea-doos and pleasure boat operators. During the summer, Charlo has several things to offer to residents and tourists: 12 km of beach along the Bay of Chaleur, swimming in the fresh water of the Charlo River, canoeing on rivers and lakes in the area.

The nature lovers will benefit from the Charlo Trail by different ways: walking, biking, strolling or even with wheelchairs. The fauna and flora amateur will be able to observe a large variety of birds, animals and vegetation along the trail. Enjoy seaside activities in the sheltered water of Eel River Bar, the second longest natural sandbar in the world.

Charlo is the cross county ski capital. Les Aventuriers, the local cross country ski club was founded in 1977; today it is the most successful such club in the Maritimes. Several times each winter, all trails lead to Charlo as serious and recreational skiers alike gather to compete or participate in the various events which are hosted by this very enthusiastic and accomplished organization. The club offers residents and visitors a variety of activities, services and events that meet the young and young-at-heart, of novices and experts.

For those who prefer to skate, the Charlo Recreational Centre houses and arena where numerous activities take place. From the community hall adjoining the arena, people can watch on-ice activities while staying warm and comfortable.

Snowmobile enthusiasts will be delighted by using different trails. They will discover the nature with its white carpet, a paradise not to miss.
